General Terms & Conditions

These are the general Terms & Conditions that covers general payment, arrivals/departures, cancellations and booking terms.

All reservations are subject to a minimum two-night stay.
 
 
Prices & Payment
The accommodation tariff includes all taxes & utilities* (* For stays of 8 nights or more there is a daily allowance of electricity of 65 units peak-rate & 40 units off-peak rate per day. Should this allowance be exceeded then peak-rate units are charged at £0.20 per unit & off-peak units are charged at £0.10 per unit - all charges include taxes. Meter readings are promptly taken at the beginning & end of each guest's stay. Payments must be made in Pound sterling only.)                        
Rates are based on 4 guests or fewer staying on a nightly basis. Prices may be subject to currency fluctuation, however, when accommodation has been paid in full, there will be no increase.  
 
Booking
 
To make a booking, you must be at least 18 years of age and be able to create a binding legal contract. Your contract with us commences when:
  1. - you make a reservation by either telephone or by completing the on-line booking forms on this website. This will be treated as an offer by you to accept an invitation to book your stay with us.
  2. - you have received an email containing the booking confirmation and our general terms & conditions.
Your reservation will be accepted at the point which you receive the confirmation of booking. The contract between us will become binding. If your confirmation is via email, it is at this point that the contract is formed. The contract is active until you and your party leave Chilton Apartments & Cottages at the end of your stay.
The contract is binding and it is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party are aware and comply with the terms and conditions of the contract.
Failure to disclose any relevant information or failure to comply with these terms may lead to the termination of the contract and the loss of your booking.
Nothing on this website is intended to be, nor should be construed as an offer to enter into a contractual relationship.
 
Arrival / Departure Times
Apartment & Cottage Bookings - Check-in time for bookings is from 3:00pm till 8.00pm. Should you wish to arrival outside of these times then please inform by e.mail at info@chiltonapartments.com or by calling 01235 831156 or 07747 462320. Latest check-out time is 10:00am.
Please note that in case a guest has not vacated the reserved property by check out time, a 'late check out' fee of £30 will be charged without prior notice.
Key Collection
Key collection can be made from reception upon arrival.
Please note that loss of keys will result in a charge of £40.
IT Confirmations/Internet Access
Chilton Apartments cannot be found liable if a client does not receive a confirmation due to IT issues, i.e. – the client supplying a wrong email address or full mailboxes. In case the client does not receive a confirmation 24 hours after the booking has been made, it will be the responsibility of the client to contact Chilton Apartments to receive an update on the status of his or her reservation. Chilton Apartments will not be held responsible in the event the client cannot receive internet access (Wi-Fi) at the accommodation due to certain IT issues outside of its control - i.e. network failure/phone-line faults.
Good-housekeeping deposit
Chilton Apartments & Cottages reserves the right to retain the good-housekeeping deposit in the event the accommodation is not returned in a clean & tidy manner and as the guest found it. The deposit may also be retained in the event the guest causes any damage to the accommodation or if the keys are not returned at the end of the guest’s stay. Chilton Apartments also reserve the right to retain a portion of the deposit in the event of a late check-out or any usage of utilities deemed excessive by the guest. Any monies retained are at the sole discretion of Chilton Apartments & Cottages.
Cancellations / Amendments- General
If you want to cancel your booking, you must do so in writing by email to info@chiltonapartments.com.
We cannot guarantee that any requests for amendments or changes in dates will be satisfied without cost.
Refunds may take up to 21 working days due to financial authorizations.
Cancellations & Amendments:-
In the event of cancellation after your booking has been accepted by us, then we impose the following charges:
14 days or more prior to arrival: Refund of full payment (less initial non-refundable deposit where applicable) or £20 administration charge (for refunds to non-UK accounts additional charges may be incurred).
7-13 days prior to arrival: Refund of 50% of payment.
0-6 days prior to arrival: No Refund.
In case of date amendments (changing arrival or departure dates) the above cancellation conditions will apply should there not be the required availability. Any amendments may be subject to rate changes.
We reserve the right to amend prices or to change accommodation without notice due to circumstances beyond our control. Chilton Apartments takes all reasonable care to ensure that the information supplied on the website is accurate, however, we cannot guarantee its accuracy and we reserve the right to change this information at any time. Property information including, but without limitation, property details, photographs, virtual tours and/or floor plans is intended as a guidance only and should not be construed as statements of fact. It is the guest’s responsibility to inform Chilton Apartments of any changes to the booking e.g. numbers of adults/children staying.
Chilton Apartments makes no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to the website or the content contained on it, including any text, graphic, advertisement, link or other item.
Save in respect of liability for death or personal injury arising out of negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation, we and all contributors to the website hereby disclaim to the fullest extent permitted by law all liability for any loss or damage including any consequential or indirect loss or damage incurred by the guest, whether arising in contract or otherwise.
Chilton Apartments will not be held responsible in any way for loss and/or damage to any personal belongings or vehicles at the accommodation nor will it be liable for the acts or defaults caused by third parties. Guests are advised to ensure their own insurance policies to cover loss or damage to personal property during their stay.
It is the guest’s sole responsibility to inform Chilton Apartments of any changes to the booking e.g. numbers of adults/children staying. Chilton Apartments reserve the right to terminate with immediate effect, any agreements with parties resident in officiated properties in the event of misleading representations in regard the previously agreed number of guests residing in the accommodation. We also reserve the right to terminate with immediate effect any agreement with parties that are deemed as anti-social, immoral, improper, or illegal. Remittance will not be offered in any such event. Legal action will be taken where necessary. Investigation of such matters will be conducted on an individual basis.
Chilton Apartments & Cottages are a strictly NO SMOKING establishment. Any smoking in the accommodation invalidates the company insurance & as such we reserve the right to terminate any stay with immediate effect without recompense.

These Terms & Conditions and use of website are governed exclusively by UK law.
